students logon at their convenience and respond to postings made by the instructor and other students. At some point, the instructor or other students respond back to the posting. In such universities there are no simultaneous exchanges between the instructor and the students. At West Haven University we use a synchronized format inwhich there is “realtime” communication between the students and the instructor. This makes for an exciting learning process that is most convenient. When WHU students enter their homeroom, they have access to services such as a Library, Bulletin Board, Study Hall, Lecture Hall, Student Forum, Project Room, Book Store, and even a Home Room for their particular class. Once the semester begins, there are a flurry of activities and students typically log into their homeroom at least daily, although not required to do so. They do this to read postings on Bulletin Boards from their classmates or to check out what other students have to say on an issue or simply “see” what’s going on.
The student can literally wait until the last minute to sign in, yet when they do, they will be able to interact with their instructor, participate in the training by asking questions, and even communicate with other students. The lectures last approximately two hours and each regular course is five weeks in duration. The content taught at West Haven University will be no different than that which is taught in traditional classroom settings. Students will have their books and study material and will be able to follow along with the instructor as the course progresses. If a student happens to miss a class or is late for one reason or another, they will be able to review the posted lecture so as to remain current and up-to-date.
We are confident that you will be pleased with the training you receive at West Haven University and look forward to “seeing” you on campus.
